Author of the book – the artist-designer, assistant professor of art history faculty of the world culture of St. Petersburg University of Culture and Arts Demshina Anna Y. teaches courses on the history of costume, fashion theory for students of art historians and culture experts. The combination of artistic and practical experience with scientific interest in the problems of modern fashion is the basis for this book. A number of scientific propositions offered to the reader, were tested by the author on scientific congresses and conferences, in particular the scientific and practical conference «Fashion in the context of culture», taking place annually in St. Petersburg University of Culture and Arts, in the preparation of which the author has been directly involved.
