The book by well known historians Georgii Kasianov (Kiev) and Alexey Miller (Moscow) analyzes the political impact on writing history of Russian-Ukrainian relations in the 21st century. Articles and public lectures by both authors supplement the key element of the book — their dialogs. Touching upon a wide spectrum of topics, from Bohdan Khmelnitskii to the Second World War, Russian and Ukrainian historians for the first time devote most attention and effort not to arguing against each other, but to protecting the principles of historical profession against political manipulations on both sides.
The book is addressed to specialists, students and broader reading public.
